Micropross announced today the reception of EMVCo issued approval letter, stating that EMVCo had successfully qualified Micropross’s EMVCo L1 PICC analog test tool, according to the new 3.0 test specification.
That means that this tool is suitable to be deployed in EMVCo authorized test laboratories, to perform official type approval, as well as debug sessions for their customers of contactless smartcards, as well as wearables and NFC enabled mobile phones.
Micropross, a National Instruments Company announced an agreement with Applus+ Laboratories ready for EMV L1 3.0 PCD testing with new Micropross test stations
Applus+ Laboratories has selected National Instruments Micropross as a supplier of test benches for new analog and digital tests, in accordance with EMVCo PCD L1 3.0 standards. Applus+ clients can now carry out debug sessions on their readers according to new test specifications, and be ready to pass the type approval tests once version 3.0 replaces the previous one.
Darcy Dement, President of National Instruments Micropross, said: “Applus+ is a key lab in PCD testing, both in Europe and in Asia. Applus+ is accredited by the main global payment schemes, and has been distinguished twice by Visa as the best terminal testing lab for the quality of its service. Contactless reader manufacturers that already use Micropross Test stations for in-house testing will also benefit from this agreement, as they will have a leading accredited lab equipped with the same test tools to conduct their official certification tests.”
Terminal manufacturers already equipped with Micropross test tools for their own developments and internal testing will benefit from this partnership, as they will have a leading laboratory at their disposal, equipped with the same test tools, where they can apply for the official certification.
National Instruments Micropross announced an agreement with BCTC, enabling them to perform for their customers debug and ultimately type approval sessions for their customers according to the new EMVCo L1 3.0 standards, using the Micropross Contactless Test Station.
Effectively immediately, customers can contact BCTC to reserve test sessions for evaluating the performance of their contactless readers (PCD) according to the new EMV 3.0 test specification, both analog and digital.
Darcy Dement, President of National Instruments Micropross, said, “This agreement with BCTC is significant for the entire Asian PCD manufacturer ecosystem looking to reduce certification costs and time to market.
As a number of manufacturers already use the Micropross Contactless Test Station for EMVCo Contactless readers, these users will be able to prepare the EMV L1 certification of their products using their existing equipment, and then easily pass the official certification session at BCTC using the same test platform.”
The vast majority of the EMV test laboratories in the Asia-Pacific region will be using the Micropross Contactless Test Station as their reference tester for the EMV test specification version 3.0.

To meet the growing demand for our products and improve the ordering experience for our global customers, we are transitioning back-end order processing and fulfillment to National Instruments.
VHBR timing requirements can be difficult to reach. If the antenna is not able to fulfill these requirements, the maximum datarate will be impossible to achieve. Very High Baud Rate (VHBR) technology allows the exchange of large amounts of data between a contactless smart card and a reader. These data are stored on the smart card itself, and the exchange is initiated by a simple swipe of the card within the proximity of the reader. Faster data rates create potential for new applications of NFC. For example, e-Passports and health care cards can carry high-quality images, that can be quickly shared between a tag and a reader.

Micropross obtains the validation from the NFC Forum for its Release 10 compatible analog test tool
Lille, 9th of December 2016: Micropross announced earlier today that their NFC Forum analog test tool, based on the Contactless Test Station (CTS) had obtained the validation from the NFC Forum according to the latest version of the test specification, the Release 10. This means that this tool can already be used today by NFC Forum Authorized Test Laboratories to perform official validation of NFC devices.
