NFC Forum LLCP and SNEP
NFC FORUM TESTING
The Micropross NFC Forum LLCP and SNEP test tools allows to make sure that a NFC device complies with the NFC Forum requirements concerning the handling of high level messages.
Indeed, the LLCP layer (Logical link control protocol) is conceptually similar to the OSI layer 2, and provides a mean to establish either a connected (stable) or connectionless (unstable) communication mechanism.
One layer above, the SNEP layer (Simple NDEF exchange format) uses the LLCP layer to allow the exchange of business oriented messages in a reliable manner.
Able to run on both the MP500 TCL3 and the Contactless Test Station (CTS), our NFC Forum LLCP and SNEP test tools run in a fully automated mode, and do not require any human intervention, even to switch from R/W mode to card mode (and vice versa) thanks to the Micropross triple antenna, allowing to switch from one mode to the other seamlessly, just by software commands.
The implementation of the Micropross NFC Forum LLCP and SNEP tools follows carefully the recommendations of the NFC Forum. Those tools can be found on the NFC Forum website, which means that they have successfully gone through an extensive tool validation procedure.
All test cases for LLCP and SNEP defined by the NFC Forum are implemented, and are compliant with the NFC Forum’s latest certification release, the CR11.0.
The Micropross NFC test solutions will typically be used in the following contexts :
- for laboratories, reference tool for type approval
- for any company, reference test bench, for pre-certification, before going to the official laboratory for type approval
