Contactless antennas

Our antennas have been designed with our testers in mind, thus ensuring you that the signal sent to the target has the best quality possible. Available in different sizes, they can accomodate any type of target, and any type of antenna, from the e-Passport applications to small RFID tags.

Industrials using our contactless parametric testers will be glad to know that some of our antennas combine both communication and resonance frequency measurement features, allowing to perform both tasks at the same station inside the production machine.

Furthermore, our team of experts will be glad to assist you in the antenna design phase of your own projects, for example, your own contactless reader

External smartcard readers

The MP-ESC reader is a small and nice looking external smartcard reader, which has been designed to be used with our MP300 MHC6, C2, C3, MT1, TC2 and TC3, to offer those tools a convenient way to communicate with a smartcard.

The MP300 MHC6, C2, C3, and MT1 are tools designed to be integrated inside production machines, including systems to convey the smartcard or the micro-module that will be tested and personalised. On this kind of machines, a reader as the MP-ESC is not needed. However, for offline usage, like development of application, the presence of the MP-ESC will be precious, as it will avoid the developper the hassle of having to use a test head or a personalisation station inside his office to communicate with the target.

Laboraroty testers (MP300 TC2, TC3) have their internal smartcard reader slot, but some electrical test specification demand that some of the tests are conducted inside a temperature controlled area, at very high and low temperatures. In this case, it is of course more convenient and reasonable to insert the device under test inside the MP-ESC, to place the MP-ESC with the smartcard inside the oven, instead of inserting the complete test system inside.

 

Also available, for usage with the MP300 MC1 and TPC1 : the MP-XA.
This smartcard reader has the same features as the MP-ESC, and also supports SIM chips, as well as SD/MMC format.

Spy probes

Acquisition probes are an essential part of a Micropross spy tool, as they are the device that will allow the tester to spy the exchanges between an external reader, and a smartcard or a smart object.

For contact technology, Micropross provides 5 different types of probes, to perfectly suit to the terminal you would like to spy :

  • An ID1 format probe (suitable for banking terminals, pay TV set top boxes, or any application using smartcards following the ISO/IEC 7816-1 specification)
  • 4 different types of SIM formatted probes, so that we have a solution to spy a mobile phone, whatever its internal shape is (we have two ‘straights’ probes, and two ‘elbowed’ ones)


Those probes can also be used to emulate a smartcard, or a SIM card, provided they are used with the right Micropross hardware.

They are designed in the thinest material possible, to allow insertion of the battery, and closing of the cover of the mobile phone.

In the case of contactless technology, focus has been given to the non intrusivity of the probe in the dialogue. It is designed for ID1 format smartcard application, but it has been proven to operate easily with NFC objects.

Software options : smartcard emulation feature

Our MP300 SC1 and MP300 SCL1 give their users the possibility to go beyond protocol analysing only behaviour, and to behave as smartcards.
The MP300 SC1 can this way become a powerful ISO/IEC 7813 and SWP smartcard emulator, whereas the MP300 SCL1 will become the most dominating contactless smartcard emulator on the market

Unlocking those features is very easy, and do not requires the tester to be sent back to Micropross.
